Dust Dust Dust

One thing Land Rover still needs to learn is how to dust seal a vehicle. Lots of dirt roads today and lots of dust. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Its not just Aussie dust that gets inside, Scottish dust from gravel fire roads after a few days of sunny/dry weather managed to get passed the seals. I accept it in my Defender that leaks rain into the foot wells when it rains as the panel gaps are huge, but it was disappointing in my last RRS. Off road dust never got into either of my Evoques in contrast. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

been there.

I resorted to buying a small hand-held vacuum cleaner and I use it every time I've been on a gravel road.

the pictures don't really show it, but our belongings had a very thin film of gravel dust after this trip.

My touareg was dust free. Double seals was their idea to solve dust. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

The Evoque had double seals too, it didn’t have sound deadening glass fitted like the RRS has. I wonder if there is a link - laminated side glass - dust inside, double seals, no laminated sound deadening side glass but double seals - dust free! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Car handled the dirt well. Turned the knob one click to the right and centre and rear diff lock engaged. Had my 22 inch wheels on which did concern me but got though without damage. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

I was always surprised how well the car performed offroad on 22’s - I did a lot of wet grass and slippery mud drives on them and on more than one occasion end up having to Assist an old Disco1 with no diff lock or a Freelander out, but it was obvious from the 4x4 info screen that the locking diffs were doing a lot of work in those conditions. I wondered how often on road when I didn’t have the 4x4 screen on the diffs were engaging in snow or standing water. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

if you think it was good on 22s, you should try it on 20s.

I thought my Disco4 was good on gravel roads, but this RRS is simply on another level. I find myself doing some silly speeds because of this! Laughing --
