Overboosting Turbos.

Hello people, am new here so please be gentle, have a 2007 RRS 3.6td and had the turbos replaced, the garage says its now overboosting due to a crack in the nearside exhaust manifold.

My questions are,

Is the garage correct with there assumptions,
Are there any other possible causes to the overboosting,

It has been remapped, both egr valves removed and blanked off and Ecu delete.

A crack in the exhaust manifold would cause an underboost fault...

Were the turbos new or reconditioned?
How long ago were they fitted?
Was the fault present before the remap?

The Turbos were replaced about 4 weeks ago. The garage that replaced them said it was also going into limp mode because of the overboosting. It wasnt going into limp mode before they were replaced. They were recondictioned ones fitted at Best Turbos in Birmingham. The remap and Egr delete was done by previous owner.

I suspect the recon turbos are the issue. The electronic actuators cannot be calibrated correctly, other than by the manufacturer. Ideally, you need to check the actual position v commanded positions on the actuators

And this is the very reason why we only fit brand new OEM turbos Thumbs Up

Maybe try Midland Turbos. They do all our turbos (TDV6 and TDV8) and can set the actuator correctly to factory settings. Never had any problems with them and never had to set the actuator once fitted to the car.

Many thanks to you both for your imputs.
There are 3 options i could go for here:-

1. Have them set by midland turbos.
2. Have a main dealer set them up.
3. Get rid of the RR. As i believe it will cause me alot of trouble further down the line.
