As a brand new RRS owner I've encountered a problem not seen with previous cars with their much smaller boots; namely the shopping going into orbit on the journey home from the supermarket. The standard three Asda 'bags for life' would wedge upright in my XFR, but not in the RRS, so I need some hassle-free means to stop them falling over.

First it would be useful to know which RRS you have as some have built in “curry” hooks that you can hook bag handles over or if you have a rubber boot mat which stops things sliding around. I used to use a couple of the larger plastic storage boxes from B&Q at about £6-8 each in the boot to stop bags falling over. They were also useful for keeping all the recovery strops, snatch blocks, shackles, rope work etc that I carried when going off-road. Something like this https://www.diy.com/departments/xago-heavy...828_BQ.prd

Thanks, Tim. It's a 2013 494 and carpeted. I suspect that a large box will be the best (and probably the cheapest) solution. |

this is how I organise the boot in all my vehicles: get a piece of non-slip mat cut out to the size of the boot, and then use a couple of ammo boxes held in place with bungee cords.

Not so brilliant if it's a tin of paint. Happened to one of our neighbours on his return journey from B&Q. Fair to comment that he was overcome with emulsion! |

I found the Stayhold a very good product which is effective at keeping things in place. Obviously the bigger and heavier the item the more likely to give way but even so they are surprisingly effective. Initially i only bought one but then got a second and that helps to trap two sides of an item. Do not damage carpet in any way and lift off easily. |
