Scratch that....cheapest on ebay is 11450

Means about 5k to play with

3.5k doesn’t go far with these motors especially if it needs a new engine.

Yeah I expect the number plate has been transferred.

3.0 engines are a lot more expensive than 2.7 from landrover.

Turbos fail? That would be worth fixing, rather than sell. So maybe not that

I looked at one that had similar symptoms (if that is actually what the symptoms are) and that was caused by running it out of fuel and then damaging the injectors... but had the advantage of having the fault codes, cost for a full new set of injectors was around £3k from what I remember... but no telling what other issues it has...

Don’t forget recovery costs to a garage if needed

As others have said walking away is probably your best option...
