Does anyone know where the emergency park brake release is as my mate is stuck on his drive with the park brake on. Andy.

In the center console, a pull ring is installed on the end of the inner cable. The pull ring is designed to fit the hook on
the end of the jack handle which, in combination with a screwdriver shaft, can be used to pull on the cable. The pull
ring can be accessed by removing a circular panel in the bottom of the center console cupholders, on left-hand drive
(LHD) vehicles, or by removing the parking brake switch on right-hand drive (RHD) vehicles.
The pull required to release the latch is approximately 200 N (45 lbf). When the pull ring of the emergency release
cable is released, the spring in the parking brake module retracts the inner cable and the nipple moves away from
the pawl operating lever.
After the emergency release cable has been used to release the parking brake, the next time an apply selection is
made with the parking brake switch, the parking brake module automatically runs through a latching procedure.

RRS1 its under the gearstick cover. A pain of a system using the drum in the centre of the disc and prone to failure.
RRS2 is a totally new improved system working on the disc directly through a servo acting on the caliper.

On a 2012 MY release is per Col. Had to do it on mine. You really have to give it one hell of a good yank.

Not so easy to find as well,, the loop on mine was buried right at the bottom !  2010 RRS, TDV8

I took my centre console out to find it. Much easier than it sounds, pop a few trim pieces off, take 2 screws out from behind the CD facia with the screw driver from the boot and pull the console up. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
