2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Siberian Silver

Boot opening

Should my 2005 RRS S/C boot open slightly when i press the boot button ? It opens ok but i noticed on a video on youtube that it pushed the boot slightly open making it easier to open fully.

If so would it be the struts are week or is it something else.

2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

I have a 2005 RRS as well and when I press the button it seems to push open the bootlid/tailgate a tiny bit .. and I mean tiny lol but there is some movement.

I had another question which is whether when closing the bootlid should there be some form of motor which pulls the lid in as I`m constantly having to slam it shut and when I haven`t a few times I get an error that the boot is open. Current:

I wish there was a
Motor to pull it shut!

Use the glass hatch instead

Interestingly, my old 08MY TDV8 had a powered latch that did pull the main hatch fully shut. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Mine does this..

Only opens a small amount,but i was looking on the net at replacing struts and the boot popped open maybe a foot to get it over the initial fulcrum.

So.... Are the struts weak ?
