Hi Guys.

The 2016 Autobiography Hev sport I'm getting next Friday has the 4 zone climate control in it which is brilliant I must say, one question though it had the vent in the boot is this for air suction or just cooling for the fan motor etc ?
I want to put a dog guard and full boot cover in the back as I want to put my dog in the back but with the cover in the back do I need to keep that vent clear and cut my cover open. Not sure If want my cover cut open though if it sucks air in through that vent and then suck my dog hairs through it !!

Any help on this and info would be appreciated.

Yes that is also a option which i will do i think but does it suck air through this vent or is it just for cooling ?

If it is like the 4 zone on the Disco then there is an aicon unit in there and that grills are the intake

The photo is really helpful too. Definitely going to get a new load liner and make sure i cover this up when the dog is in the back as i don't want hairs getting in the intake !!!

Then when the dog isn't in the back i can uncover the intake and use the rear air con.

Shame there is no way you can shut this vent like the air vents in the front for when you have a dog in the back ?

Do you have the name of the company or link where you got your boot cover from as they may do one for a Range Rover Sport with 4 zone climate control like they have done for your Discovery 5

I actually have not got a boot liner with my Disco as I use the 7 seats quite often

I specified 4 zone for the dog and use it to keep her at a cooler temperature than the front when we are in France.

We have had a couple of 2,000 mile trips and it has worked well, no sucking in of dog hair!!

There wee several threads on bool liners on the sister site Disc05, that is where the photo came from.

Ahh that's good to hear that you have had no issues with sucking in dog hair through that intake. I do have a German shepherd though and she is pretty hairy !!! Drives me mad hooving out my Sport every trip out

Hope this isnt stupid question but what is 4 zone climate?

I assumed it allowed front and rear passengers to have different temps and blower speeds? Nothing to do with ventilation in the boot?

I ask because i have a ATB but for some odd reason i cannot unlink the two left and right sides in the rear. I appreciate you can link or sync both front and rear but i want to have seperate settinga for each of 4 people in the car. Perhaps i have got the wrong idea of 4 zone although the manual does indicate rear passengers can have seperate controls.

You have 3-zone (standard on ATB). Rear passengers get the same shared zone. 4-zone separates them. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

Also with 4 zone climate you get air vents in the roof both sides for the middle passengers and air vents in the boot too. Least my German shepherd gets to have her own climate control each side in the boot too

Just want to say it's a amazing system well worth it
