Well I've been to to look at a couple of each now and ended up pulling the trigger on the first Cayenne Turbo I saw, it was in good condition and very clean and has stacks of invoices and has been looked after and drives really well, it does have a prodigious thirst for unleaded but to be fair I have been using the loud pedal a lot today, when I reset the MPG calculator and drove it normally it got 15 around town, which is low but about right for one, overall very happy with it so far .

Well, a bit of an update a few months on from purchase and a couple of thousand miles in, the Cayenne Turbo has been great, it’s really quick and the handling, for a 4x4 is impressive, no issues so far, it does seem to use a drop of oil though-about a litre every 1000 Miles, but this is apparently normal use.
The main negative is it is SO bad on fuel, I’ve had a petrol FFRR and an SL55 in the past and its noticibly worse than either of them!.
It’s a bit difficult to compare it directly to a Supercharged RRS as I only had the 2.7 but I’m impressed with it, I do think the RRS is more comfortable.

I went through this also, spent the better part of 4 months looking, driving and talking to owners of both. I never owned either one prior and have a Porsche 944 cab in the garage. In the end I went RRS 2012 albeit a 3.0 as it was the combination I was looking for red, sunroof, etc. And remember there's no such thing as a cheap Porsche! 2018 Telsa MS

8mpg average- Granted I did have (and still do ) have a heavy right foot! I was convinced there was a leak somewhere.

No, general consensus on the internet and even in the owners manual is that’s normal oil usage, petrol use is around 14 MPG and it likes super unleaded.
Overall I’d not say it was better than an RRS, it has one on performance and build quality, but on comfort and looks the RRS is better.
I’m planning to keep it a year or two then move over to a late D4 HSE.

How are you finding the SVR by the way?, one went past me the other day it sounded and looked epic .

I think I have been pretty lucky with both of them, no issues with either,
I alternate so they are both getting used, the 2018 is definitely quieter you have to be heavy footed to get the valves to open up, but you can mod the exhaust to keep the valves open all the time.
My 2017 car has turned 9k and no rattles or anything to speak of. Drivers seat wear I have noticed but i ll ask the dealer to sort a warranty claim when I have the time.
