South Africa 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Siberian Silver

Luke, you, sir, are a flippen genius!!!

Tried your suggestion of converting my music using the Lame codec, and it works!!! I'm using Foobar, but it seems that as long as the codec used is Lame, the Meridian system recognises the mp3!

thanks a mil Thumbs Up --

Im glad it worked for some one else as well Very Happy

The way i found out was analyzing tracks that didn't work and looking at the information to see what the difference was with a working one . ( I think i used the freeware MediaInfo )

Some of the mp3's had some weird codecs ( with Chinese symbols )

Because i had a massive variation of mp3s that worked with different bitrates etc i knew it wasnt that , also removing meta information didn't make any difference .

Thats how i narrowed it down to the encoder .

all mp3 albums now get the audacity treatment from me ! .

Noticed some mention having FLAC working, but like others I can't seem to get it on mine either (825W system).

According to Meridian it does:

Is anybody successful in getting the dealership to do what's necessary? I'm not too keen on converting
my library to MP3.

Cheers,

Richard

update: As a workaround, if I use my telephone with the InControl App "Music", I can indeed play FLAC.
Unfortunately a lot of jockeying around is necessary which is a PITA.
I'll still push the dealer a bit on garantee about the FLAC support in the expensive Meridian player according to the docs.

Do not, whatever you do, convert your library from FLAC to MP3 as you cannot undo that. If you must go MP3 route - not necessary, see elsewhere in this thread - copy your library to a separate new drive and then convert only that new drive. Also, always keep a spare safety copy of your main drive and a cloud based safety copy. It's what recording studios do.
