Alive have said if it was wiped they would sort a reinstal for a small admin fee. That said, normal servicing seems not to affect it. I can't speak for what happens at a main dealer because I refuse to get mugged by their rip off prices and crap customer service. A good specialist indy, recommended through here, is better, cheaper, less likely to lie or rip you off, and probably knows as much if not more. Since I got my my2012 mid 2015 it has never been back to a dealer, only a trusted indy, serviced on time every time, and it runs as sweet as a nut. |

I would love to have mine remapped as the hesitancy when trying to pull out of junctions for gaps that aren't really there drives me crazy but I have 16 months left on my LR Used approved warranty and despite having not missed a beat I wouldn't want to risk it and get told pay up as your warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on due to having it mapped. 2019 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography Velocity blue.

I sympathise with your position. Well, you could wait the 16 months and do it then I suppose. I have not had a warranty on mine for two and a half years and so have saved more than I have paid out (alternator and inlet manifold). Does depend on where you sit on the risk spectrum I suppose and we are all different. Do it next year and you won't regret it, but though we are clearly different in attitude to risk I can understand your reasoning and would never criticise anyone sharing it. |

I couldn't remember properly, but that sounds very much like what Alive were explaining to me why the could not get a exact bhp reading for my car on the Dyno, definitely mentioned transmission not allowing allowing something or the other. Cheers Col |

Would a main dealer be able to detect it’s been remapped when it has a service there? Visitor from fullfatrr.com
