2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Lower tailgate will not close

Hey guys, this is my first post on any forum in my life. My RRS has the soft close as i have the pre facelift. When i try to close it, the soft lock doesnt pull the tailgate in fully which gives me the indash warning message. I have a long drive to cover tomorrow. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I did open up the plastic cover and have a look at the actuator and there seems to be a big silver wheel thing that seems to not move. Im not sure. I was wondering if i could apply some wd40 or not? Or shall i do something else. Thanks for the replies in advance.

Presume you have tried pressing down on tailgate after shutting to see if the soft close then engages? Robin
