Just tried the brake cleaner but no sign of air leaks.

The car drove faultless this morning for about 4 miles but then starts to bog and it sounds like there's an induction kit fitted to it like a proper sucking noise.

I wonder if the petrol pump is in its way out so it's reading fine on ideal but when it's driven for a bit it starts to play up hence the bogging.

I tried a fuel prime on the hawkeye this morning but it's saying failed but this could be down to me not doing a procedure right.

I will try driving it till it plays up today see if I can get any other readings on the fuel pressure.

Does anyone know the average running pressure the fuel rail should be running at ?

Don't know if it's any help but on a 5.0L System Pressure 4.5 Bar 65.3lbf/in2 Starting Pressure 6.3 Bar 91.4lbf/in2

Thanks for all your help guy . It always that it has fixed it's self I drained the tank and put fresh in and it look.like that may have done it altho not 100 percent.

Next issue . Car is over heating not think the fan may have gone. When the car is up to temp I can stop.it and even spin the the opposite way . Don't think that's normal ?.

Also when I went to fill my aircon up it's showing 100psi which is way to high.


Have read the aircon and water system are connected could it be down to the fan it's so high.

This range is really testing me this last week.

The fan is on a viscous coupler, so when it's not engaged it will stop if held. It shouldn't spin freely however. Is the wiring for it connected properly ?
TBH the over heating could well be something else as unless it's really hot and I'm in traffic my fan only engages when I first start the engine for 5 mins or so. Check that the thermostat isn't seized closed, it's pretty easy to get to on the 4.2 (top front of the engine only two or three bolts to open the enclosure as I remember, the thermostat is a bit of a pig to get back in!).

No expert on AC, but I would take it to kwick-fit and get them to vacuum and re-gas the system (it's an automated machine so they can't get it wrong).
