Ey up Steve, thanks, they do look nice fitted don't they?
My Old Man decided on aftermarket because, as you say the OEM ones are mega money. The set we chose (I think anyway) are a very close match to the original design and tread pattern. The quality of the parts was brilliant and arrived without any 'in transit' damage, which has got to be a first ever for something I've ordered online! I'm sure this was due to the way each item was wrapped, secured and boxed by the sender.
If you're fitting them yourself, and they really are very easy to do, I'd definitely recommend removing the front sill trim, the vid's I watched avoided doing this, to make less work I think, but upon removing the rear trims, the amount of road crud and gutter slush that was caught up behind made it a 'no brainer' to remove the fronts and give it all a good old clean out.
I'm now investing in a set of mudflaps as a prezzie for him to hopefully reduce the amount forced in.
Maybe aftermarket will not be for the purists but overall The Old Lad was very happy with the finished fit, so that makes me happy.
