Still hoping for a S2 one day!

I work from the City half the week when I am not in Canary Wharf. When in the City (like today), my pre-lunch running route is along the north bank to Westminster Bridge, cross over to the south side, then along the south bank to Blackfriars Bridge to cross the river again back north and finish at the office. Westminster Bridge is always so full of tourists that I have to run on the road. I can imagine anyone running a car into that crowd would catch many people. I was on the bridge like 2-3 hours before the incident Now dreading the commute after work due to travel disruption. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Please don't take this as being disrespectful, as its not meant to be.
The police officers family have gone through an awful experience, that no one should have to suffe. However he was a policeman doing his job which come with risks, even more so in these highly volatile times. Just as a fireman knows the risk of entering a burning building, but as part an parcel of the job they do to perform an life changing rescues, they all get my respect.
However there is now 4/5 other members of the public who have also lost there lives due to this tragedy who were not putting there lives at risk by choosing a high risk career, and I'm betting they may not have a police offcer's pension or life cover that will help to compensate the family for there loss should anything happen to them.

The money raised so far is a phenomenal amount of money and I think it should be fair to compensate all the victims families who have suffered through this tragedy.

I totally agree, I too think police should as a minimum should carry tasers.
He was an unarmed police officer because it was thought "an armed officer looked to intimidating to be approached by the public".
However a taser is easily concealed and quite a deterrent should it been drawn.
