Removeable Tow Bar

Hi does anyone have any experience of getting an aftermarket removable tow bar fitted to an L494.

I am looking to purchase a six month old MY17 HSE but the dealer wants £1000 for a fixed tow bar which I definitely don't want or £2000 for a deployable one.

I have read elsewhere that fitting one ends up with the rear looking like a dog's breakfast so am wondering if anyone has found a make and company who can fit them and leave a neat job.

Cheers

Ian

IIRC the OEM fixed and removable are made by Westfalia/Westphalia so you might be able to buy the exact same only without the LR Oval trade mark stamped on it for considerably less from their website. It's the same with roof rails/crossbars and their fitting are all made by Thule without LR Branding on them for a fraction of the price LR charges. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
