It really works VA! Anyone who has marks on their exterior vinyl use some smooth peanut butter on a cloth. It is great for getting any bodywork polish that the lovely dealers may have got on your vinyl Warning You do look a complete wally smearing your car with peanut butter though PS I hate peanuts YUCK |

To answer the original question with SOME decorum, I find the easiest way to get bugs and flies off the paint is to use the Meguiars Lambswool wash mitt, it has a reverse side for exactly that function and does not harm the paintwork.
