Hi, I have bought an extra set of original RRS Stormer 20" wheels which I will use for summer (current V Stormer with Verdestein Wintrac Extreme).
They have come with 4 x part worn Hankook Ventus ST 275/40R20 106W but 2 of them need replacing.
I would have gone for the same Hankook but the mobile fitter only had 2 x Pirelli 275/40R20 106Y PZERO XL which he is fitting to 2 of the wheels tomorrow.

I am aware of telling my insurance company about the difference in speed rating but here is my question;

What would be the best set up in this situation?

i.e., put the new Pirelli rubber on the from wheels (my theory is that although 4WD might be a bit more wear on the front through steering) or put them on the back. Or even one front and one back etc etc!!

.....on the same axle. I think it's less of a problem between axles as long as the tyres all comply with the speed rating, etc.

You mention speed ratings, yet all season, Winter and off road 30/70 are often difficult to source for 186mph running! John

So the guy from Tyres On The Drive came and I was very impressed with their service.

Fitted 2 x new Pirelli Zeros and balanced in about 20 minutes, total cost was £309 but I was willing to pay this as I only booked it on Friday night and they were the only ones that could come on Sunday which fitted with my schedule.

He said that it's ok as long as you keep the 2 tyres the same on the same axle. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
