Loads of stuff on here already but just thought I would say that I have removed my EGR Valves and had my ECU remapped and the car is miles better, MPG better and performance is up, worth the few hundred quid!

I used a chap in the Stockport/Cheshire area to sort the remap, the company is http://www.performance-blue.co.uk, they also do DPF removal and tuning, so if you are based in the North West area it is worth giving them a call, mention Phil @ DSG and you can then ask for a discount.... , oh and ask for Colin or Rob......

The EGR valve kit cam off ebay and cost £16.00, bargain, 1.5 hrs to fit.

Chaps, worth every penny, don't drive a Range Rover Sport 2.7 HSE (mine is an 05) without doing this modification!!

Being very new what do the EGR valves do? Why are they there if they are not needed?

Hi,
The EGR valves are the exhaust gas recirculating valves that are fitted to try and reduce emissions, they can get clogged up and often fail you open and shut properly sultig in poor Perfomance and then poor fuel economy.

I have removed mine and the cars is miles better, search on here for more info on EGR's as there is loads of info.

take it there is no issue with getting through an MOT with them not operational? Just found out that Flack is 2 mins from me so have reqeusted his prices for all things RRS including EGR work. 2014 RRS HSE, SVR body kit fitted.

What's dpf? How much was the remap? I'm in lpool so may book a slot. Also blanked the EGRS YESTERDAY and oh what a difference. Mpg up from 19 to 26

How comes you can't blank the egr's of a 2007 model? As im thinking about doing it on my 2008 next week.

you can but you need to reprogram the ecu to prevent the light coming on

Cheers Andy. Who can do that and how much do they normally charge? Looking at blanking them off to avoid future problems and getting a remap put on by AMD.

Speak to Alive Tuning. They can put you in touch with their nearest dealer, who can blank the EGRs, and provide you with a top notch remap

Just had a look at them but theyre a bit far from london and would rather do the blanking myself to save a couple of quid 👍🏻

Blanked off my EGRs this morning. A bit fiddly but fairly straightforward, took about 2 hours. Car started first time, ran fine, no smoke and no EML on dash. The write up on the Disco3 forum was very helpful.

Will run it for a bit to assess the difference, will consider a tune in the not too distant future.

Thanks for the link phil, mucho appreciated will give it a crack next weekend. To save me starting a new thread, does a 2008 2.7 sport have a dpf or did they come on later models?
