headgasket................

Evening all, Quick question...

Are the tdv6 2,7 engine trouble some with the head gaskets.. Now bear in mind i have re built the whole engine and im trying to establish if its a general error by myself while putting the heads back on or weather i should be looking out for anything that is common.

New head gaskets and heads tested for cracks.

Nothing wrong with the heads prior to the crank breaking. only 65k owned from new (psa engine........never again)

yes i could take the body off and find out but this has come at a bad time due to me moving business premises and the new workshop not ready for a few weeks. Im digging for info before i tackle it once again

Any help people

Thanks in advance

Jon

I've seen a lot of high mileage tdv6's and can't say headgaskets are a common fault. Have you got combustion pressure in the water system. Check that you have got water circulating through the cooling system and no air locks.
I am not a fan of the 2.7 and 3.0 engines either. Life's too short to drive boring cars !

Hi mate, Tbh i hate them too. As soon as this is fixed i'm going to buy the newer super charged or a R8. I've spent a fortune on this already.

I have water coming out the exhaust pipes at rear and its now created a misfire on a cylinder. I am going to pressure test the cylinders 1 by 1 to see which head is at fault then i will update you all.

thanks jon
