Removing letters

How do you guys suggest removing bonnet letters, I want to freshen mine up with new ones maybe black

Warm the letters with a hairdryer & they will just pull off then remove the glue that is left with tar & glue remover.

I removed my old ones, after warming with hairdryer, easily with a Credit Card carefully, no problems. Embarassed John
