Easiest DIY fix...intercooler top hoses

Today I did what is perhaps the easiest DIY fix: replaced the intercooler top hoses. One screwdriver or small socket required and that's it. Took longer going to get the hoses than it did to do the job.

Noted the dreaded cloud behind the RRS yesterday on the drive home. Nearside bank hose had split. Rang a couple of LR dealerships - Northampton didn't have them in stock, Guy Salmon at Stratford did. Interesting comment from parts chap "I keep those and the Range Rover versions in stock" followed by a wry smile.

Anyway, £70 all in for the pipes (plus £55 to fill SWMBO Octavia in order to get to Stratford Rolling Eyes ) and job's done.

Hoping that no damage has been done.

Did note a film of oily residue inside the pipes, intercooler spigots and throttle bodies. I guess this is left over from the turbo failure 60,000 miles ago Confused The MAF sensors didn't look too bad so that's good.

Anyway, other than changing wiper blades or headlight bulbs, this must be the easiest DIY RRS job there is. Thumbs Up

Ironically, I had been thinking about replacing the top hoses with silicone ones. Just in case. Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
