BlackVue Dashcam owners

Hello,

I have just received my brand new BlackVue DR650S - 1Ch, which will replace my Vico WF-1 ...
Before sticking the 3M on my Solar Attenuating Windscreen, behind the rear mirror, I was wondering if this could "block" the sensors on the back of the mirror ... Any BlackVue Dashcam (DR650GW, DR500GW, etc) owners that can advise where best to place it?

The alternative is to stick it just below the rear mirror ... But the Dashcam would then be too visible!

Thanks,
Jan

Mine is on the passenger side, tucked behind the rearview. Think all the sensors are on the drivers side. Certainly I haven't had any issues, and can't see it from the drivers seat.

Thanks.
I have installed it in the middle of the windscreen, just a few mm s below the rear view mirror black component: you can't really see it from outside, as it is almost allined with the rearview mirror itself ... Black on black. Thumbs Up

I did also try to place it on the passenger side, i.e. on the left of the mirror, but noticed that the cam would not record what happens on the right side in full ...

In placing in in the middle I got the full 129^ angle of view.

No issues at all with the wiring: it took me half an hour to install it all very neat and tidy behind the roof and door linings: nothing is visible at all.

It is definitely a top product worth every Penny spent! Bow down

At the moment I've got it plugged in cig lighter as the company I bought off didn't have hardwire in stock but they are sending me one when back in stock.I ran the wire behind headline & tucked behind trim on A pillar.

Thanks to all.

Andy, your cam looks good! Thumbs Up

Autobiography, no hard wiring is necessary: just use the cig lighter and the BV MAGIC POWER BATTERY PACK: https://www.blackvue.com/power-magic-battery-pack/

It's very simple: just push the wire between the headliner and the trim, then follow the door, the carpet, etc Will send you a link ... Cool

This should help and clear doubts re the wiring. In this video they hard wire the BV to the front fuse box ... But you will need to find the proper fuse that stays on when the engine is turned off ... With the battery pack, you don't need to worry about the fuse box, battery consumption etc eye ... The battery pack charges when driving, and allows you 12 hrs recording when the engine is turned off.

The reason why I chose not to hardwire the battery or fuse box is because I had some probs on my BMW ... Electronics on board are far too delicate!!!

This other video shows how to hide the wiring. It is on a M4. On the RRS it is much simpler as you have a lot more room to move inside the from and the rear ... It took me 30 minutes to do the job properly.
