Red Park Brake Warning Flashing on Dash

Was out on the trail - just forest roads - nothing too severe - and the red parking brake light starts flashing - car still runs fine - but I did not want to try and put the brake on and off and get stuck. Drove 200 miles home with the light flashing - no other issues. A buddy with a code reader read the fault "lost communications with EPB module" or something like that - but I did not want to try and reset on the trail just in case. At home now, what should I try to fix this

1. Pull battery ground and see if that resets the system ?
2. Try and put brake on and off and see if it that resets it ?
3. Take it to my indie and have them reset with code reader ?
4. Or am I doomed and will have the replace the EPB module ?

Experience with this ? Opinions ?

Have you had a look under the car to check you haven't damaged anything around the EPB, especially as you also shredded a tyre? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Thanks - I checked underneath, nothing is obviously damaged - the brake light started flashing after a few miles off road on dusty trail - but nothing too bumpy. That was before the river crossing and tire incident ! I looked at the other thread you linked me to - will check the connectors / fuses this weekend and use some contact cleaner ... see if that helps ...

Update

Update

1.Checked wiring under the car (easiest if you remove rear right wheel). No obvious signs of damage.
2. Removed Fluse FL8 and checked (OK)
3. Disconnected battery ground, cleaned terminals, and reconnected after 20 mins to reset computers
4. Turned car on - red brake light was still flashing
5. Pulled brake lever - brake went on (solid light)
6. Pushed brake lever - brake went off and light went out
7. cycled brake one more time - no issues
8. Test drove - every things looks OK !
