Suspension fault

About a month ago While driving I've had a amber suspension warning light come on. Stopped at the services and turned engine off. Then started again. All was fine for 20 minutes then it came back on again. It's been fine since.[/i]

Thanks for the reply. I have read about battery could cause these problems. But kwik fit tested battery with a bosch tester and it was fine. If the faults continue May bit the bullet and buy a new battery.

Funny.
I had my aircon re-gased. While I was there I asked them to check the battery. Are these range rover sports that fussy about a battery? It starts first time every day.

One of the problems that many of our members don't realise is that although the alternator will put a charge back in the correct charge to battery, if you are doing consistant short runs of a few miles, and extra things running on Car, then the battery will get lower. I find by leaving it on trickle charge a couple of times a week keeps my battery in good nick, plus a few 500 mile round trips help. But a cold morning with Hester's seats etc on will soon give a flat one if you don't do a few runs to keep it topped up, and yes, some will say that's a load of bull, but many a battery that's been "flat" has worked fine for months after a proper charge.
I also don't believe that the on/off facility, on newer models when. Car turns off at lights/stationary etc is anyway to treat a battery.
When changing, get a good make with the correct current(amps). The RRS to have regular faults caused by the battery, but quite often it's purely the charge or condition. There is a hell of a lot of electrics on all our cars. Wink John

They are fussy about their electrical supply, yes. The battery can be OK to start but not be good enough to run the car thereafter. It is often the sign that the alternator is on its last legs.

The problem with checking the battery is that it really needs to rest for 24 hours after engine off to disperse any surface charge on the plates. It might show 12V when you switch off but the next day a check will show much less.

When the suspension lowered, did it go down to its bump stops? That might suggest a corrupted height calibration. This might be related to the battery / alternator too. Really needs the error codes reading to get go bottom of it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Using the on-board screen it's 12volts at rest and 14volts at around 1500rpm.

Can't rely on on board system but at rest it should be around 12.4v needs a proper meter putting on it. Thumbs Up Currently MY16 Disco 4 Mr. Green

12V isn't that great - it's less than 50% charged. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
