Brake lights

Slight problem.

When my headlights are on my brake lights don't work.. The 3rd light stays on and the other two do not get brighter as they should do when the pedal is depressed. When the headlights are off, they work.

There are no blown fuses.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a bad earth at the rear of the car.

I would have expected move faults with the rear lights though , like no reversing lights.

Do you have led rear lights ? Aftermarket ? Check they are fitted well if you do

All sorted.

I guess they call it Halfrauds for a reason huh? They had given me replacement bulbs with the wrong connectors. Typical!

It is advisable to avoid Halfords bulbs altogether, as cheap brake bulbs can wreak havoc. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Fitted LED bulbs in mine never had a problem in nearly 7 years now 4 in my D3 swapped them into the sport. So much brighter side and brake and to my mind match the high level b/light. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current
