having trouble finding a roof rack in the UK to fit my L320 RR Sport apart from the genuine expedition rack that is ridiculously expensive new.

does anyone have any experiences with one of these Thule Canyon 859 or own one? I was going to use it with my L/R roof rails and bars as needing more space up top and thought it was reasonably priced

If you already have the roof rails then would a roof box be big enough? I have the very large LR one that I used with my previous Evoque as the boot / rear wasn't big enough on occasion and I was amazed how little effect on the fuel consumption and wind noise it made. Mine is no longer required now I am back to RRS's. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks for the reply Tim, I've never been a fan of the roof box as I like the more rugged look of a rack. I'm not one to worry about fuel and just shovel it in.

This Thule one clamps onto existing roof bars. The sort of stuff we carry is all waterproof in bags, tents and camping equipment so it doesn't bother me if it gets wet. Ah, I've followed your scattered posts regarding a roof rack with interest, as I want one for exactly the same reasons, but I'll be if I'll pay £1200 (+VAT) for the G4 thingy.

The LR roof rails and bars don't seem any better value at £400 either.

Ok just got round to putting a few pics on, rack turned up so I unpacked it and partially put it together before trying it for size on the roof.
I then decided it would be much more usable if I had brought the extension to go with it, and it would also look better aesthetically and fill the whole roof space. I ordered the extension 3 weeks ago and Thule have had them on back order

Hopefully it will turn up next week as promised then I can reassemble and fit it to roof for a test run!
