My car has been in for its cambelt service and I asked if they could read and reset the fault codes, they all cleared except an EGR fault, I suspect it's clogged up as it had a split intercooler pipe when I got it.
Anyway was wondering if I can just blank the EGR off in it? And if anyone could recommend me a kit to do it with, there are some on eBay but not sure which to go for.

Yep, an 05 can be blanked without a software patch.

Can't advise on a specific kit, but they don't need to be anything special to do the trick. You can either take the pipes out and fit blanks at both ends or just fit shims - either works fine.

Hi LFW, do the shims fit at the top end of the pipes or the bottom end on to the EGR, bit confused by this one  2007, HSE, Cairnes Blue, Factory tints, Love it !!!

I fi blanking plates rather than removing all the pipes and they're quite straight forward.

I would always recommend new bolts as the state of bolts when they are removed, is pretty shocking. Occasionally, the bolt will shear due to severe corrosion.

Process is
Remove drivers side EGR pipe top bolts
Remove the single bolts holding the pipe to the engine block.
Unclip the special clip at the top.

Then you can easier get to the motor on the side of the air intake.
Remove the four t20 screws
Move the motor away and then remove the central butterfly valve (don't forget, you should also have removed the bolt that holds the intake to the engine, therefore you will have removed the plastic cowling etc

Refit motor
Refit EGR pipe with the blanking plate. Sometimes is easier to use a long straight thing to guide the blanking plate to the right position.
New bolts!
Replace bolts, then do the same on the other side, but you done need to take the pipe off, once the bottom bolts and centre bolt is out, you can slide the blanking plate in and out the new bolts on. Bodsys Brake Bible
