Yep, an 05 can be blanked without a software patch.

If you fit the blanking plates to the bottom, do the pipes allow enough room to slide them in ??. And do you need longer screws ?? I promise no more stupid questons |

I fi blanking plates rather than removing all the pipes and they're quite straight forward.
