Well only 2 and a half weeks after taking delivery of my new HSED and I already have an issue. On the way down for a long weekend away on Friday I got a warning message saying that the quality (not quantity) of the AdBlue detected was insufficient and that I had 500 miles (ish) before it wouldn't let the engine start again.

Thankfully we weren't going very far so having got back now, a call to get the thing looked at is due. Just glad we haven't sent the old car back yet. Anyone else had issues with AdBlue quality?

I hesitate to suggest that maybe the AdBlue wasn't full on delivery? Or there is a fault.

If you have taken out a service plan, AdBlue refills are FOC.

Thankfully the lease company insisted on a service plan so no problem there. I think it would be covered under warranty tbf as it's the quality rather than the quantity that is the warning. So my guess would be there's either something wrong with the stuff they used or the sensor is knackered.

Suspect I'm in for a fight with this. The local dealer told me when I booked it in that they 'can't claim anything back from Land Rover under warranty for anything to do with AdBlue'. Will see what they say on Monday but I certainly won't end up footing the bill for this in the long run

However, if one has to refill the Ad Blue outside the dealer network in a year or so, will this be an excuse for some dealers to refute any warranty claim for Ad Blue issues?

If you've bought the service pack you can get free ad-blue top-ups at any Jauar or Landrover dealer for the duration of the service pack by just producing the card.

That should reduce the "wriggle room"!!

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, same warning appeared then went off after a couple of days took it tndealers a yay and they topped the ad our up. They reckoned I had an air lock in it. I would like to say it sorted the problem but it's Ben in the dealers for the last two weeks with another problem 2008 Factory HST- Sold

Your car is 2.5 weeks old FFS! Absolutely ANYTHING that goes wrong is covered by warranty. period.

If they won't/can't fix it, I would threaten to reject it.

Does having an Ad Blue system do anything to help improve fuel consumption or is it purely an additive to reduce the clogging of the DPF? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It does reduce the bed bracket for a 4.4 my 2015 4.4 was 229 and £490 on a normal year, my 2016 4.4 is 219 and only £290 per annum ved.

£200 a year saving for lugging around up to 20litres of pi55 which have others have said landrover will top up for free with a service plan.

I'm sure there is a line there somewhere...
