Scotland 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

Mikey

Got a reply from dealer. The update was not done on the car. They are quoting £377 parts and labour.

Not sure how I stand with the warranty on this. I need to prove that it's doing it. However ever since I posted this I can't get it to smoke! I don't know the exact combination of events that lead up to the plumes of smoke it gives off so can't video it. I suspect in the garage it will be difficult to repeat too.

I guess I should be glad, but would like it fixed and know it's fixed for good. 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory

That's a bit steep...

Takes a few days of driving gently and not using the big turbo, then a bootfull of throttle to make it smoke

I have not had mine done yet by dealer as I can't replicate it! It's a good thing I guess and as DM said driving around at low revs for a few days should do it, but I have not been in those driving conditions for a while.

Dm. Do you know if it can be replicated on the ramps? Or does it take driving the car? Glad to know it can be fixed 100% though. Thumbs Up

Hope you get it sorted. 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory

Hi guys
2012 Sdv6, 25k, properly serviced. Last service Jan 2016.

This has happened about 6 times recently, thought it was when it was only when cold but happened today at normal. White smoke fills the road when booting it, say when accelerating onto dual carriageway from about 40-70ish. But if you accelerate after, its clean, nothing. Slowing down, then booting again produces nothing.

Driving about 50 miles a day via mixture of dual carriageway and slow town driving. Usually I don't boot it very often due to traffic etc, but a few times I have noticed it lately.

Am I to be worried? It's not normal I know that.

Things that come to mind...

Did you get to the bottom of this? Just noticed my SDV6 when giving it some up a big hill. L494 3.0L SDV6 Autobiography in Chile Red (Current)

Secondary turbo drain pipe mod. This involves fitting a shorter pipe from the turbo drain to the block instead of to the sump so it drains down easier.

I did it on mine. Not because I had a problem but more of a preventative measure. Kev
