United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

What warranty? Whistle

When my RRS passed 100k the warranty options reduced somewhat. I had been using LR's Extended but that doesn't want to know after 100k. The other providers seem to reduce the cover too so decided to go it alone. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

The beauty of running an older RRS is that the depreciation is lower; if I changed for a newer one I'd have a big cost-to-change plus the higher depreciation. Also, nothing owed on the vehicle so it's an investment in future use, effectively. If I was carrying big finance in a newer one I'd be worried by a big bill but I'm not so I'm not.

Plan to keep it for a while yet, all being well, so I'll get the benefit of the repair. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

A little over 3 grand incl VAT. Gulp!

That's a bit better at least. Thumbs Up

I sometimes wonder if I outght to try to calculate my balance as regards a warranty so far; up until last summer I was well and truly in the black, but a "biggie" has muddied the waters. I suspect I'm just about worse off presently, but hard to judge with DIY savings and convenience thrown into the mix. Not that I have much choice at 138k... Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

I was thinking that myself, at 700 a year for a LR warranty it all adds up!

Looked at my warranty just now from large chain. It's a two year maximum single claim £3500. Only £545 for two years mind, but they only cover cars up to 6yrs old and purchased from them. So at end of 2yrs I will need to look elsewhere.

It's a difficult call. 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory

For me it's actually quite an easy choice, it's close, but an easy choice because I can do most stuff myself and frankly, for the peace of mind that gives, and as I enjoy doing it, I'd probably be willing for it to cost a bit more even. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

When I had a warranty it paid put more than it cost each year. But at 120k miles and in its 8th year, warranties are increasingly restricted. I'm hoping that having had lots done already will stand me in good stead in the future. I am concerned about the engine dying but other than that it's all fixable. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
