Hi folks

After suffering a leak from the pipe directly coming from the dynamic response reservoir, my local indy Land Rover garage have advised that the pipes have corroded and need replacing. Unfortunately they advise that I cannot just replace the piping, because you have to buy the whole unit including front ARC bar for the 2007 S/C model.

There is nothing wrong with the ARC bar they say, but it all has to be replaced as a complete unit!

So...what is actually a £250 problem in terms of the pipework, has now become a quote for well over £1200.

Can any of you possibly offer any advice on this? Is replacing the entire unit my only option?

The bars were changed early in the vehicles life, and a change of either pipes, or bar required the other to be replaced at the same time

However, by 07, I thought they would have the newer parts fitted already...

Yeah, I was pretty shocked when they said you CAN order the parts separately but NOT for the 2007 Supercharged. It's literally an additional expense of £800 for no reason.

I haven't even been able to find the full kit they are referring to online, just to see what it consists of. I'm maybe looking in the wrong places though...

The reservoir has been topped up to keep me going, and I'm going to visit a local hydraulic piping specialist to see if they can fabricate a replica, then it may just be a job of cutting out the corroded area beneath the reservoir and replacing.

At the end of the day, it's piping, metal, and fluid. If it's gone together, it can come apart and go back together again surely(I hope!)
