Couple of weeks ago my RRS (MY13) with 21k on the clock started pulling to the left so much so that a touch off opposite steering lock was needed to keep a straight line! I took it in to a local tyre garage that I've used before on both my current RRS and my last RRS for four wheel aliment purposes, they have always done a good job and corrected all issues for me. Some minor adjustments were carried out but this didn't seem to correct the issue of it pulling to the left? I returned the car back to the tyre garage a few days later for them them to recheck the aliment and tracking but no problems were found the tyre pressures were all checked with no issues? It was suggested that I took the readings to my local stealer for them to check all bushes etc. I booked the car in to my local (new) Land Rover main stealer explaining the problem and handed them the readings from the tyre garage. The car is still in warranty so I dropped it in to them last Saturday 9th Jan Today I receive a call from them (after I chased them yesterday) saying that all bushes, suspension etc had been checked without any problems so they would now like to do a four wheel aliment check on their own machine and charge me £300+ VAT + extra for an adjustment !!! How can they justify charging £260 more than all the local garages in the area for the same thing?? A heated conversation arose regarding a horse, a cape and a gun !! I have now cancelled my service with them which was booked in for March on ground that I dont trust their outrageous prices! I'm collecting the car and taking it to a independent LR garage ironically (for them) just down the road from them. I've also suggested that I've given them the opportunity to correct the problem under warranty should the other garage find fault other than tracking (which I'm sure it isn't!) I will be billing them for the work! It's so disappointing that they want to just rip us off when all we are trying to do is support the brand...... words (that I can write on here anyway) fail me!! !!! Cheers Laurence.

Of course not all dealers behave like that thankfully , luckily my local dealer is an indepentant Land Rover dealer but unfortunately a bit too far away for you .

I have always received a fantastic level of service from Guy Salmon Land Rover, Northampton. They really do put the surrounding LR dealerships to shame.

The first place I would look is the brakes, it sounds as if the N/S caliper is siezed and is causing your problem. should have been easily diagnosed by either the tyre garage or dealer.

Maybe not all main dealers are like it?? But I have a similar experience with an Audi Mani dealer not so long ago! I had purchased five new cars off them in four years then I had a problem with my last one within two weeks of ownership the dealer was less than helpful so I returned the vehicle and moved away from the brand and on to LR! Now I want to do the same thing with LR! I don't mind spending the money I'm the first to say if it needs doing just do it no matter what it costs But I wont be blatantly ripped off!! This was nothing less than daylight robbery in my book. Obviously I can afford to buy the brand but clearly cant afford the outrageous main dealer running costs that they seem to just pluck out the sky depending on how they feel at the time! No that's it I'm moving on to another brand or just maybe buy secondhand cars now I've had enough of these robbing at main dealers. they are all to quick to jump out of their seats to sell you a car when you walk in But no wants to be as helpful when it comes to repair without trying to empty your pockets first!
