Remember, with a remap, you don't use all the extra power that much, only overtaking etc, however the drivability with a remap is another subject altogether. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

It can be if the transmission is not healthy though. Even with a healthy box, a bad remap could cause damage - it's about power and torque delivery, rather than outright power/torque. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 Auto HSE Zambezi Silver

The SC does have the speed, but the torque of the TDV8 will put the gearbox under the most strain. It's the torque delivery of a badly remapped diesel that can be the real killer. |

Yes, the 6HP26 has an input torque of 650Nm. The TDV8 has 640Nm as standard. No doubt the 'box has a factor of safety built in and can actually handle twice that but we'll never know.
