I did worry about this too, but the guy I bought the car off had had the other key repair by the same person and was very happy with the service.

A brand new key, programmed, cut and paired to the car can be done for £160-180 over here. |

Did mine when the case fell apart. just change the innards into the new case with the old blade and it just clipped together Simple. cost £6 from Landrover Dealer on Ebay |

I have a 12MY and have replaced the covering (along with broken key loop) with main LR dealer. The cost of the part was £9 and didn't charge me any labour - took them 45secs! |
