technical advice please

any advice please. my 09 2.7 TDV6 has developed a high pitched whine on start up. it seems to rise and fall with Engine revs. no fault codes coming up and drives well so dont think its turbo. the noise fades as the car warms up

Could be the alternator pulley or water pump. Worth a check. Lot of Landcruisers now sold

Could be any of the pulleys, but also the aircon clutch pulley is a favourite for whining when it starts failing. Bodsys Brake Bible
