A friend of a friend has a 56 plate 2.7 Sport and has "blown the engine up". I haven't seen the car so I don't know how much damage there is. He says it has a 2010 upgrade on the lights etc and has only done 56k miles, in white.

Has anyone any idea on value, before I go and look at it? He has offered it to me, but we were both unsure of what it's worth.

I presume buying a 2nd hand engine and fitting it will be fairly costly...?

The RRS commands a premium over the D3, and having such low mileage and the 2010 upgrade makes it more desirable

I would say somewhere around £4-5k, maybe more if the car is mint and mechanically sound

You are looking at another £4-5k for a 2nd hand engine , fitted...

If it was working you'd probably be looking at £14k. Factor in the new engine costs and it's probably worth £6k. Someone will be along with a better answer.

Thanks guys, I pushed him for a price and he said 6k. I guess there is a little bit of profit in it, but sounds like too much of a headache for too little profit to me. I might leave it a few weeks and offer him 4k

Yeah he's had it ages, apparently it's already had an engine a couple of years ago too. Think he's just got to the stage that he's had enough. He's bought another car now, so it's just sat there
