best independent company to purchase a warranty?

I have just purchased a RRS 2010 TDV6 with 49k on the clock with full LR service history.

Is it worth purchasing a warranty at this stage and which company to use?

Is it also worth paying the yearly subscription to the tracker company?

Definitely get a warranty these cars break down and are expensive to fix. Warranty Direct gets a lot of very positive votes and have been good to me. If traveling in Europe get a good breakdown like ADAC. IF UK only LR Assist expensive but meant to be good. However, not so good if travelling abroad very much.

Agreed. WD have been good to me & although its tempting to take a chance I wouldn't want the bill for changing a turbo... Confused

Don't forget this question is purely about cash flow. In the long run you know for a fact that you are better off not taking a warranty, so the only questions is whether you would be crippled if you happened to be more than averagely unlucky in the short term.

One thing I never understand is gap insurance. When did that even become a thing?

I would clarify that statement to the above, as large bills may or may still not come one's way even if the car is owned until it dies competely, since simultaneous failure of all components is virtually impossible. The point is still a good one, however; since warranty companies are in it to make a profit, on average, it must indeed cost their customers more... Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
