I'm going to view a 2007 silver supercharged Hst at aspire specialist cars in Hyde over the weekend and I was just wondering if you knowledgeable chaps would give me your first impressions of it

For the mileage i would say it is overpriced. Quite a lot of bling for my liking but if it isn't your cup of tea, it can be changed. Service history from 28-51k is a bit sketchy. Looks like a service was skipped. Not a good advert when you start it with "Free AA breakdown cover" He obviously knows how reliable sports are. Ask if all the important bits have been changed recently. Air compressor, ball joints, Anti roll bar bushes etc etc. Insist on a 12 fully comprehensive warranty. Not one that covers you with a maximum £500 claim limit, which is often offered by garages which usually isn't worth the paper it is written on.

If you can check that the new wheels are genuine Land Rover Stormers those look too new. Many look-a-like Stormers are not rated high enough for the weight of the RRS and crack/ distort easily. I would also look to remove the perforated trim things on the sills, they will get very dirty very qickly (I suspect they may be Arden accessories and have coloured lighting inthem anway........) I would also remove the V8 badges, there isn't a V6 Supercharged 4.2 it is only available as a V8 so folks don't need to know it. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Just out of interest what would a twelve month comprehensive warranty cost a garage to purchase to put on a vehicle they are selling ?

And how can you tell a real stormer from a fake?

It should have Land Rover stamped on the inside of the wheel. Difficult to see unless you climb underneath. Sorry i have no idea the cost of the warranty.

You can get a decent warranty for about £650- garage would probably get it cheaper. I got mine from a similar dealer and the warranties labour cap was £60 a hour. Try getting a Range Rover fixed in Oxford for £60 an hour!

Isn't that derived from how much fuel they burn in a hours driving!😀

As others have said, looks overpriced to me. I don't like the chrome bits either. I'd personally factor in another £200-£500 to change the grilles and vents back to something less blingy. Cost will depend on whether you go for copies or originals.

I had a look at that car on the net prior to purchasing mine so it's been up for sale for a while. Remember two former keepers plus the current keeper equals you being the fourthe keeper.

Just to compare, this silver one below was on Autotrader for £13850 down in Watford. Looked beautiful, similar age and miles. I spoke to the seller and he said he would let it go for £13000. By the time I got back to him, it had sold.
