No I haven't done it yet. There is some information on this site but as there is not many S/C RR,s suggest you look into Jag 5.0 S/C on the internet where there is more information.

Can anybody recommend the best people to get an engine remap together with the upgraded supercharger pulley for my 2006 4.2 Supercharged? Malaysia Boleh!

BOBBY, as mine is 4.2 I would also like to know the same. Anyone out there that can help us ???

As an aside I have installed Water/Methnol kit on another of my Toys (But its a Turbo) and it made a great difference by water reducing the heat and eliminating any chance of pinging. The methnol aided the fuel delivery by adding extra high octane fuel when needed. I am going to look into it for the RRS as it assists Supercharged engines as well.

Most interestingly for those not based in the UK, they will ship you the hardware and software for the ECU tune so you dont need to visit them, looking at the figures, with the Pulley and the tune you will be upgrading in the region of 80bhp....thats SVR territory

They also cater for pre L494 and offer ECU tuning for both in addition to the pulley upgrade:

That's one hell of an expensive piece of metal!

I don't accept their comments that an alternative belt isn't required; I'm sure it's fine most of the time but the pulley is smaller so the belt should be adjusted to compensate. A new belt would hardly cost the earth either.  Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Regarding the video, why do we need to do all those things if the new pulley is custom built for a specific vehicle? I would be worried too!

I'd be interested in seeing what their customer service is like.

Logic would denote that a smaller pulley would require a new belt, surely the tension would be wrong? I am no expert...in anything mechanical but I can't see how a smaller pulley would not require a new belt.

That is unless the OEM pulley is the same size....but then how would the power be gained?

Thank you for your enquiry we can provide you with the fantastic Supercharger Pulley and we are developing a plug and play system for this model, This allows you to have the standard map plus a performance Map.

The overall cost for these two upgrades are £899 plus shipping this will include the pulley and the Home Tuning System for the 4.2 which we are taking orders for.

These are the two most important upgrades apart from the exhaust and will provide the greatest gains. We would require payment before these items can be sent and the lead time is 3 to 4 weeks.

We have these in stock and as you have seen they are a fantastic tuning tool for the owner, allowing up to 2 maps for your vehicle which can be tailored to your requirements and can offer custom tuning at your fingertips. Swapping the maps from one to another is a quick and easy process.

You can choose which maps you would like as well as the standard map. You can choose 2 maps from the following:-

• Maximum power road
• Track and race-day
• Valet mode (Reduced full power, ideal when you're not behind the wheel!)

With regards to the BHP and torque increases, you will typically see around 20BHP and 25Nm of torque from a standard vehicle.

This works by plugging the device into your OBD port and taking a read from the vehicle you then send the original file to us and we send you your standard map plus the additional map and these settings can be changed at any time.

You do not need to have the device plugged in permanently has you just put the setting you desire on and remove the unit from the car. This is fully explained in the instructions for the device.

Thats great we have been able to come up with a couple of suppliers. But I notice that Paramount only mention 5ltr upper pulley (not 4.2L) is it the same???and using the OBD to upgrade the mapping.
A couple of things:-
Yes, you may be able to use the existing belt as the diameter of the pulley wouldn't be that different and there may be enough adjustment to tighten the belt.
I remember reading somewhere that the earlier model 4.2l Sports could not be done via the OBD. I would check this out first.
Each supplier (not just these two) seems to have a different version of what to do. Does just doing the upper pulley provide the same or lesser result than doing both. Or are there any other ramifications ???
