2005 RRS rear diff leaking

Hi my rear diff has a slight weap of oil and I've got it in the garage I bought it from. Now they say they took a look at it and said that its normal for them to do this. Is this true ? Thanks in advanced Very Happy

No, it shouldn't leak oil - that's why they fit seals to them to keep the oil in. It's not uncommon for a drive shaft seal to deteriorate over time and it's not too big a job to replace - had one done recently and it wasn't too painful in the wallet department. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
