RRS MY15 Recall

A friend was due to take delivery of his MY15 RRS this morning and has just been told by the dealer it will be delayed (no date given) because LR have issued a recall. Not able to get much info but believed to be a DPF issue!!

My dad has had a recall notice on his MY15, apparently if the climate is going full blast there is a cable in part of the loom ( supplied by others ) that is not big enough for the load so needs to be replaced which should take about an hour 2015 HSE SDV6 Scotia Grey, ebony / lunar, colour coded, deployable steps, TV, sliding pano and a few other bits. Diesel Particulate Filter - removes soot from emissions

My mate has heard from the dealer that LR would not allow unregistered vehicles to be registered until fixed. Told to expect a delay of up to May 5th.

Ahah...so that's the reason then! My Oct 13 has been shutting down on full climate speed since I bought it 19 months ago. I mentioned it on the last service but nothing got done. I have had to shut down and then restart climate to get it going again.

Often you find that it is only a number of cars in a VIN range that are affected so your new car may already have any upgrades done PB, especially if you haven't heard anything from the dealership 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

You could always phone the dealership first thing in the morning and ask them all about it. That may be a disappointment but may also save you an unnecessary journey. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

peanutbob,

The climate control recall only affects 2015 MY Cars. The letter I received from LR about it was that the parts supplier had started to use thinner wiring that caused the problem. I took delivery of my car in December and got a recall letter a day after it had been back to the dealer to sort out some issues from delivery. Called my dealer and as per usual they addressed it without mentioning a thing about it!

This affected my L405. It could also be faulty wheel nuts too which were made from the wrong grade of metal. I had that too.

The wiring one is due to one wire not carrying the correct load rating. As above, it using the max cool function, the wire could overheat and the LR bulletin details a possible vehicle fire as a consequence.

Amazed they haven't sorted this on the line yet.

My MY15 car has been in for 3 recalls in total, the aircon wiring, accelerator switch and something to do with the battery. I must say that the car feels better since the recalls; a mysterious rattle from the dashboard has gone, the accelerator response is slightly better and the car hasn't burnt to the ground
