Don't know about you but whenever I'm leaning into the engine bay to do something I'm always just moments away from scratching my paint with a zip, stud, button or even a stray tool... when I realise I try to put a cloth in front of the offending item but it's only a matter of time before I forget... I'd really like a proper solution.

lol thanks - I have tried towels and cloths in the past but they have a tendency to slide off unless I weigh them down with a few spanners. They get filthy fast too and there's only so many 'old' ones I can pinch. I get enough grief asking the wife to wash my microfiber cloths without adding oily towels to the list!

There's one on Amazon with a rubber non-slip backing that looks like it might do the job - if no one has any other suggestions I'll probably give that a go
