Oil leak from front of engine

Is there any common places these leak from? (Tdv6) i took the inspection panel off near the front wheel arch and oil is dripping off the large pipe, jubilee clip was a bit loose so I nipped it up but I still get a drop appear in same place so I assume it's coming from higher up and d ripping down
I need to get it up on a ramp to have a proper look but thought I'd see if itw a common problem to give me a head start !

Had similar recently and was told it was a crankshaft seal leak. £2,500 later repaired by local stealer.

By the looks of that pipe I would put a new one on, also check the top end of the pipe and make sure plastic chamber is seated fully home and the big circlip is located fully in.

It could also be a pin hole in the inter cooler, but I would expect you to have seen errors if you had.

Seems like it could well be from front crankshaft oil seal. Have heard of quite a few of these leaks.Behind crankshaft pully. Have a look from top as well itisme

I'm assuming crankshaft seal is a huge job if he bill is £2500?

I'll take covers off top tonight and see what I can see, with regards to pin hole in cooler the car drives fantastic it's just annoying me having spots of oil on the drive

I had an oil leak,drips from front of plate under engine. Indie repair £318. They did a smoke test,and said the oil was coming from a badly seated Y section of manifold between V section of engine. £2 fr a new seal and £90 for cleaning all oil away. and top up oil and new filter.The rest was for smoke test and labour. I was just pleased not to have oil leaks all over the drive way itisme

I'll have a proper look tonight from above once I take covers off fingers crossed it's a easy fix I can't be doing with a £1000 bill!

Crankshaft oil seal is about 4 hours work, and a £4 seal

However, from your photos, it looks like it is leaking past the hose clip. Try tightening it up first

I was not very tight at all but I've tightened it and a drip still appears on the hose, what is this hose for?

In the same situation again I would not go to a dealer but a good Indie who I revkon could have halved the price.

So even at a main dealers prices it should only be around £550 to £600. I think Main Dealers will take you for a mug,if the opertunity arrises. £2500 Ouch itisme
