Hi all. I recently used my 05 rrs to tow something a short distance.
A 6 ton static caravan. In low box 2nd. And low reverse.

Since then i can hear a very faint noise at low speed. Almost a moan, but no loss of power, silky gear changes. There does seem to be a tiny judder when i stop the car.

Its done 75k and has fsh.

Have i killed my favourite car? No warning lights etc, am i being paranoid?

Not sure but if you haven't had a gearbox service and flush might be the best time to have one now.

Is the noise under load? Or on over run (i.e lifting off accelerator)?. Does it happen just rolling in neautral? In any particular gear? I'm not Fat. RRS TDV6 HST.

Under load, first and second gear i think. Its not loud at all, and the sound varies slightly too. No other time.

Could be autobox related. Disco Mikey might know a bit more.

Other culprits could be diffs or prop shaft bearing but they're normally in every gear and not auto box related obviously. I'm not Fat. RRS TDV6 HST.
