car on start up went bang and would not fire up.

so trailered it to ramp ,took off turbo hose and full of oil.

lifted the body to investigate to find the other turbo had seized and snapped the shaft on the intake side.

found the shaft and nut in the pipe but no turbo vanes that are missing

any help would be gratefully appreciated, I've flushed the intercooler but no vanes.

I am dreading having to remove the engine!...HELP

Last seized turbo I had on a TDV8 went with such a bang, it had blown the vanes all the way back up into the air box

Take it you have removed ALL of the turbo pipes to check for it, intake and boost pipes?

All pipes removed' and empty' no sign what so ever.
I'm hoping the vanes were fired backwards and out the exhaust some how.

They wouldn't make it past the cat. If they managed to break through the cat, it should be in the centre silencer

Its not sounding good

EDIT: Assuming we are talking.about the vanes on the intake side of the turbo, and not the exhaust side...

intake side, the turbo is not broken down enough for them to go out the exhaust.... that was a long shot

I would be inclined to remove the Intercooler completely, and see if it is rattling loose inside the cooler. If not, same with the manifolds as far as is practical.

If there are no parts to be found, then they have either broken up over a period of time and been drawn through the engine gradually, or it has imploded, and been sucked into the engine...

Can you remove the exhaust, and check for any evidence in there

Removed intercooler completely , flushed with brake cleaner, plenty oil but no vane traces, grrrr
