Hello guys, I need you advice I got the dreaded parking brake stuck on but turned ignition off for a few seconds and back on to release it and parked it in P only is it ok to drive or will I cause damage to the shoes if I do drive it? Please any advice until I can get it to a garage Monday ?

Now sometimes if you put into drive or reverse and accelerate a little it sometimes can release however, you'll know if it will all not, doesn't need a lot of revs.

If that doesn't work then you'll have to remove the gear nob by twisting one way and then pulling up hard. Watch your face it will hurt . Once thats off you can squeeze the plastic surround that goes around the gear stick and that will pull up and unclip. Thats the hard bit and will take a lott of squeezing and a bit of force.

Once you've got that off you'll see a metal wire loop, you'll need to get some string to wrap round tk give yourself a bit of leverage and then pull that up hard, that should release your parking brake.
