I see so many posts on here now with new members wanting to know if they can afford to run an RRS. last month i was very much in the "its not much more than a saloon" camp, but after four and a half years of trouble free motoring, that has just come to an abrupt end!

Add % cost for tyres and other consumables and £1000 under-eggs the cake me thinks. When I used my Sport properly, 10-15k a year, add in another grand for tyres, a set of wipers and few other bits, costs were @ 2500 a year plus fuel.

My £1000 was staying out of the dealer network I wouldn't get away with, or even try getting away with a £700 service! When it comes to "breakdowns and failures" I have had to replace a tailgate latch and a caliper in the last 12 months, less than £100. The rest has been spent on making it look/go better, and the consequences of doing so
