United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey
Track rod ends

I'm trying to sort out a front tyre wear issue. The NSF outer shoulder is feathering quite noticeably. The inner shoulder has a bit of feathering too but not so much as the outer shoulder. I sometimes get vibration through the steering wheel too but it's not consistent or continuous.

I have jacked up the NSF corner and checked for play. There is no play evident of bearing wear (just as well as it was changed not too long ago).

If I grab the wheel at 9 - 3 positions I can feel, and see, some movement. There is no "clunk" in the movement just a smooth flexing. I'm under the impression that there should be zero flex.

If I repeat the process on the OSF wheel I find a little bit of flexing but not as much as the NSF wheel. There is a little evidence of shoulder wear but not nearly as bad as the other tyre.

Can anyone confirm my thoughts that the track rod ends are in need of replacement? Vehicle has 76k miles on the clock and has had both front wheel bearings replaced in the last 18 months - knackered wheel bearings would presumably affect the track rod ends by exposing them to vibration etc.

Alternatively, could worn dampers cause tyre shoulder feathering? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

These are Grabber ATs and it's feathering rather than the Continental wear issue. Definitely something geometry related even though I've had a proper alignment check done. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
