I recently sold my 06 RRS that I had from new and miss it like hell and as I cannot justify the cost of the new sport I am looking at 09/10 used.

What I would like to know is the pro's or con's of the 2.7 against the 3.0 as bot are available at around £32k

I think the consensus would be go for the 3.0 if you can as it is a more refined engine, the 2.7 always seems to get commented on that it struggles unless remapped.

I think also around this time you should also be looking at the interior face lift which bought the interior up to date at the time and dispenses with the green LCD displays. Might stretch your budget a little, but be worth it in my opinion. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Agree with Bc, go and have a test drive of the 3.0L and you will be amazed at the big leap forward from your previous sport, not just the engine, but also the interior. Its a much nicer place to be in. With a 32k budget, there are plenty to choose from. Good luck with your search.

I have hopefully found a 2011 HSE that is fully loaded incl 8 speed box and power tailgate, intending to conclude the deal this morning and collect tomorrow.

I am very impressed with the drive of the 3.0 SDV6 and all the toys that my old RRS HSE did not have.

with regards to your post I purchased a 59 MY2010 3.0TDV for 32500 fully loaded with 29k miles Full LR service history 2 weeks ago. You mention that you are looking at a SDV for 32000k. From my knowledge SDV are selling from 36k to 40k upwards please fill me in with details, As would really interested. Perhaps off loading mine and getting a SDV.

2011 HSE SDV6 8 speed fully loaded in Bouneville 22000 mls upped budget for right car to £40k, really looking forward to being back in an RRS, collecting tomorrow pictures to follow  Michael

Smart RRS

I will be adding a few bits of trim, chrome rear bumper protector and that type of thing.

It seems to have pretty well everything I need/want although I don't like the black rear door windows so I am going to find out the cost of changing them, it will I expect be prohibitive but worth asking the question.

A couple of minor things to go back to dealer for, tow bar dust plug missing / ash try lid not closing / (we don't smoke) second key on order etc. Michael
