United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Lux Orkney Grey
Dead Touch Screen

On my 2013 MY the Touch screen screen went 'black' but radio etc still worked.

As we know usually switching off leaving the car to go into 'sleep' mode will clear most of these glitches as LR's system is actually quite robust and its rare for the screen to be blacked out its more normal for it to freeze and all functions to be lost.

It can appear that there is a blown fuse.

However we tracked this down to indigestion with the USB storage device that had iTunes music file installed. Apparently if a USB has any system type files (often hidden) it can cause the system to go into shut down. Removed the USB dongle and everything is back as normal.

Lesson is be careful to clean format the USB device so the music files are the only files on the drive. Thumbs Up

my screen also does this and i did not have any USB installed. There is alledgedly a software update for this fault but after having tried this, the dealer is now fitting a new unit but they are on a 3 week back order. Really useful that!
